Privacy Policy

1. Summary

  • klettrack supports two modes: device-only and optional cloud sync.
  • Cloud sync is optional. You can stay device-only and keep full core functionality.
  • In device-only mode, your logs and settings remain on your device.
  • If you enable cloud sync, your account and synced training data are processed through Supabase to provide sync and account features.
  • We do not sell your personal data and we do not use advertising SDKs.

2. Data the app processes

  • Device-only data: climb logs, training entries, timers, and app settings are stored locally on your device.
  • Optional cloud sync data: if you sign in and enable sync, klettrack processes account identifiers (such as email and user ID), sync metadata, and the training/log records you choose to sync.
  • Optional imports/exports: when you choose to import or export (e.g., CSV), data moves via the iOS share sheet to destinations you select (Files, Mail, cloud drives, etc.).
  • Optional board integrations: if you connect to third-party services, requests go from your device to that service. Their terms and privacy policies apply.
  • Media references: media linked to climb logs is referenced by the app and may be stored in locations you control on your device or storage provider.

3. Permissions

klettrack avoids permissions unless necessary. Typical use does not require access to Contacts, Microphone, or Location.

If a future feature asks for a permission, it will be requested just-in-time and used only for that feature.

4. Crash logs & diagnostics

We do not embed advertising SDKs.

If you opted into Apple’s system “Share with App Developers” setting, Apple may provide us with anonymized, aggregated diagnostics. These reports do not include information that directly identifies you and are used solely to improve stability.

The web app may store limited UX and sync troubleshooting events in your browser local storage for local troubleshooting only.

5. Backups & iCloud

If you enable iCloud or device backups, iOS may include klettrack’s local data in your device backup. You control this in iOS settings.

6. Data retention and deletion

  • Device-only mode: data stays on your device until you delete it or remove the app.
  • Cloud sync mode: synced records are retained in cloud infrastructure to provide sync until you delete them, delete your account, or disable sync and remove cloud data.
  • Account deletion: if available in your version, you can request cloud account deletion from the app/web account settings. This removes your cloud auth account and associated synced data according to backend retention operations.
  • Deleting the app removes local app data from the device but does not automatically delete your cloud account unless you also request account deletion.

7. Third-party services

klettrack uses third-party infrastructure providers to operate optional account and sync features, including Supabase (authentication, database, and edge functions).

If you choose to connect to additional third-party services (for example board platforms), those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

8. Security

We use technical safeguards intended to protect your data in transit and at rest for enabled cloud features. No method of transmission or storage is guaranteed to be 100% secure.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we’ll update this text and the Effective date. Your continued use of klettrack after changes means you accept the revised policy.
